GROW YOUR OWN PUMPKIN

Whether it is Spring or Fall, it is easy and fascinating to plant pumpkin seeds indoors and watch them sprout into seedlings. It takes approximately 8-10 days for a pumpkin seed.

MATERIALS:
Potting Soil
Pumpkin Seeds
(1) 6" Container

DIRECTIONS:
1. Fill your 6" container with loosely packed potting soil to one inch from the top.
2. Plant (1) seed in the container, no further than 1" under the soil.
3. Place the container in an area that has a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit for
the best germinating conditions. Check the soil each day, making sure it is moist
but not soaking. After approximately 8 - 10 days, you will begin to see the seeds sprout. Keep track of the daily growth.
4. When the plants are 3" - 4" tall, you can choose to plant your pumpkin plants
outside in the ground for optimum growth. Pumpkins require a lot of space, the
vines can easily reach five yards or more. The plants like the sun and can be watered
about 1 time a week. You should have fruit on your plant in approximately 90 days.
